Experienced Mexican fighter Alex “El Cholo” Saucedo won by unanimous decision over the American Sonny Fredrickson, in an entertaining fight presented by Top Rank from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and broadcast on ESPN.

The combat was intense from the beginning. Both fighters showed all their power, but Saucedo was stronger against an opponent who never gave up. The judges declared “Cholo” Saucedo the winner with scores of 99-91, 98-92 and 100-90.

With this result, Saucedo improves his record to 30-1, with 19 knockouts, while Fredrickson fell to 21-3, with 14 knockouts.
In another match, super lightweight Josué Vargas (17-1, 9 knockouts) defeated  Salvador Briceño (17-6, 11 knockouts) by unanimous decision, with scores of 100-91, 100-90 and 100-90.
In another bout, undefeated super lightweight John Bauza (14-0, 5 knockouts) bested Larry Fryers (11-3, 4 knockouts) in eight rounds, with cards of 79-73, 80-72 and 80-72. For his part, middleweight Isiah Jones (9-2, 3 knockouts) secured a six-round majority decision over Donte Stubbs (6-1, 2 knockouts). Scores were 57-57, 58-56, and 59-55.
