World Boxing Association (WBA) Fedecentro Bantamweight champion, the American of Mexican descent, Saul Sanchez, has made a call to the big names at 118 pounds and wants a big fight after his recent successes.
Sanchez has just won the pioneer body’s regional belt last Friday when he defeated Frank Gonzalez by first round TKO. This is the second time the 23-year-old fighter has won the title in his career and now he wants better opportunities.
“I’m open to any and all world Bantamweight champions,” Sanchez said in statements to BoxingScene. “Whether it’s Naoya Inoue, Guillermo Rigondeaux, Reymart Gaballo or any of the other world champions, I’m ready! I’ve trained my whole life for this moment and I’m preparing to take advantage of the opportunity”.
“I know I have made great strides to reach the highest levels of the sport, and I feel that after this past performance, I am putting myself in the best position to fight for a world title,” he continued.
Sanchez will move up in the rankings thanks to his victory and will be one of the candidates for a world title in the short to medium term. After his win, his record stands at 16 wins, 1 loss, and 9 KOs.
