As our own Michael Woods reported was a possibility just over a week ago, Cletus Seldin will indeed return to action on the December 16 HBO card from Quebec. Seldin will face Yves Ulysse Jr in the opener of the Saunders-Lemieux headlined tripleheader.

Seldin (21-0, 17 KO) made his HBO debut on November 11, routing Roberto Ortiz in three rounds. It was an impressive first fight on the network, as not only did he win, but he did so in highly entertaining fashion.

Now, the 31-year-old “Hebrew Hammer” will go on the road to face Ulysse (14-1, 9 KO). The 29-year-old Ulysse is coming off of an October 27 loss to Steve Claggett, a 10-round split decision in Montreal.

“My trainer and I have studied Yves Ulysse and know he is a solid boxer-puncher who fights with intensity and angles,” said Seldin.

“He is as good as anyone in the 140-pound class, so it will be a hard-fought, exciting fight. I want to thank my promoter Joe DeGuardia and HBO for getting me right back in the ring and back on HBO again so quickly. I want to fight every month like this.”

“It has always been my dream since I started boxing to perform on HBO, the world’s most prestigious television network,” Ulysse said. “I’m so happy to get the opportunity to do this at home, December 16, and show the whole world what I’m capable of.”

The main event, of course, will see Billy Joe Saunders come to hostile territory to defend the WBO middleweight title against David Lemieux, and the co-feature will see middleweights Antoine Douglas and Gary “Spike” O’Sullivan square off.
