SCARPA CONQUERS WBC SILVER BELT

Italian,  Andrea Scarpa (19-2-0, 9KOs), defeated Britain`s John Wayne Hibbert (17-3-0, 11KOs) to win the WBC super lightweight silver belt, with Referee, Ian John Lewis, stopping  the action at two minutes  55 seconds of the 6th round,  due to a severe cut above Hibbert´s right eye, which was rapidly worsening.

Scarpa looked comfortable during the fight, in spite of the given fact that Hibbert is known to launch a fearsome body offensive.

Hibbert, aged 31, looked hurt during the 6th round and after being checked by the Ring side  Doctor, the bout was stopped.
