At the Mega Card of K2 Promotions, the World Boxing Council presented the SCHOLAS Belt, after WBC world middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin retained his undefeated record against Daniel Jacobs, and Srisaket Sor Rungvisai regained the WBC super flyweight title by defeating Roman “Chocolatito” González.
Our Ambassadors of WBC-SCHOLAS saw action, as part of the BOXVAL- FIGHTING FOR PEACE program, carrying the message of His Holiness Pope Francis, with the avowed task of serving children in search of a better future, regardless of religion, race or color.
This impressive and memorable event at Madison Square Garden in New York- the Cathedral of Boxing, reflected the Scholas’ core value of equality. Various boxers of diverse nationalities and a variety of religions clearly demonstrate to us all, that in spite of our different creeds and beliefs, at the end of the day we ARE ONE, in striving for peace and equality.
