SCHOLLAS OCURRENTES MEXICO GAIN SEAL OF APPROVAL FROM THE POPE

Pope Francis blessed the formation of the Pontifical Foundation ” Scholas Occurrent ” in the Vatican as a civil association in Mexico, encouraging  the development of youth programs.

His Holiness  greeted the brothers Héctor, Pepe and Mauricio Sulaimán, who advised  him about the the association development, during the opening ceremony of the “Scholas” headquarters in a building of the Vatican, in Trastevere, Rome.


“Scholas in Mexico means bringing education, sport, culture and also technology to all the youngsters  who do not have it.” Scholas seeks to spread peace,” explained Héctor Sulaimán, President  of the advisory council of the Mexico association, in an interview with Notimex.

He stressed that the Pope considers inclusion  as one of the inspirational goals  of education, because it seeks to promote the culture of  incorporating  young people of all religions, all creeds and all races.

World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman outlined some details of the “BoxVal” initiative that began a year ago as another of Scholas’ initiative programs.

He explained that as part of this program several “Peace fights” were organized, such as the match between a Muslim and a Catholic, Amir Khan and Saul “Canelo” Álvarez, on May 7, 2016 in Las Vegas, U.S.

Two other meetings with representatives of four religions were held in a card for peace held at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Including Gennady Golovkin (Kazakhstan) and Daniel Jacobs (United States), “Chocolatito” Román González (Nicaragua) and Srisaket Rungvisai (Thailand).

Mauricio also outlined that the project includes visits to hospitals, boxing schools, promotion of campaigns against bullyng, addictions and the use of technology.
