SET IN STONE! THE HISTORIC JOURNEY OF ROBERTO DURAN TRAVELS TO THE BIG SCREEN

Classic American comedian Buster Keaton was known as “Little Stone Face,”  but there`s only  one “Manos De  Piedra!”

Born in June 16, 1951, in the Chorrillo neighbourhood of Panama, the story of the Great Roberto Duran is hitting the big screen with a powerful impact,  so avid fans and casual admirers alike, can soak up the atmosphere and the legend of  an all time Ring Great.

History in the making…

On January 21st 1978, at Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas, Roberto won the WBC lightweight title, stopping countryman Esteban De Jesus in the twelfth round.

After having defeated former welterweight champion Carlos Palomino,  in  June 1980,  Roberto battled  the silky skilled Sugar Ray Leonard with the WBC welterweight title on the line.

That night, and after a rugged,  magnificent fight,  Roberto became champion. However some months later, Leonard recovered the crown, following  Duran`s now famous frustrated quip: “No mas.”

In February, 1989, he became WBC middleweight champion defeating American Iran Barkley, in Atlantic City. Before that, he had conquered the super welterweight championship.

During his brilliant career which spanned five blazing decades, Roberto faced Hector “Macho” Camacho, Sugar Ray Leornard, Thomas Hearns, Wilfred Benítez and Pipino Cuevas.

His last fight was against Hector Camacho on July 4,  2001; he was able to conquere 4 of the 5 weight categories in which  he fought. a fabulous record of 103-16, including 70 KO`s.
