Undefeated 122-pounders Muhammad Shekhov of Uzbekistan and Russian Magomed Kurbanov fought to a competitive 10-round split decision draw in a title match for the World Boxing Association (WBA) international super bantamweight crown.
The tough rumble unfolded last night at the USC Soviet Wings in Russia’s capital, Moscow, and the title remains vacant.
Also, both warriors keep their undefeated record intact.
Muhammad Shekhov, 28, is now 7-0-1, 3 KO’s; and the 30-year-old Russian Magomed Kurbanov: 6-0-1, 3 KO’s.
The show was a production of veteran Russian promoter Shamir Petrossian of Shamo Boxing.
