SHERAN, AAA WIN IN MALAYSIA’S F3 FIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

By Anil Kumar Alagu
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia –It was a beat down of combative sport action in Kuala Lumpur last October 14 at the Titiwangsa Indoor Stadium here during the “F3 Freestyle Full Contact Fight Championship”.
Marzuki Ismail, founder of “F3 Freestyle Full Contact Fighting” promoted it together with co-promoter Vikram Sivapragasam of Cartel International Promotions. It was sanctioned by WBC ABCO and supervised by Col. Damrong Simakajornboon.
The show featured a variant of competitive combat sports primarily Muay Thai, Mixed Martial Arts and boxing.
The highlight amongst the stacked cards were dual tune-up bouts that featured top seed boxers from the Vladimir boxing stable – Malaysia’s No. 1 ranked featherweight Muhammad Shehran (5-0,1 KO) in the Co-Main event and apically ranked exciting middleweight contender from Uzbekistan Azizbek “AAA” Abdugofurov (8-0,4 KO) in the main event.
Both pugilists took care of business in the squared circle over fibrous opposition.
In the co-main event, Shehran successfully defeated his opponent YuliusMauk (2-2) of Indonesia after a hard fought 6 rounder.
Shehran kick started round one with a solid left hook to the body, swiftly countered by Yulius with a right upper cut. Yulius started doubling his jabs as the round progressed which did little to stop Shehran as he managed to block the jabs tirelessly.
In Round 2, Yulius suffered a grotesque blow to his nose causing it to bleed which was a result of Shehran’s jab that connected straight. After Round 3, the pace of the fight deteriorated with both fighters exchanging blows that weren’t connecting on one another.
Round 5 saw more inside fighting with Yulius attacking more to the body and Shehran targeting the head. Towards the final round, Shehran and Yulius displayed fatigue but started a flurry in the last 10 seconds of Round 6.
Shehran won by a Majority Decision from the scores of 60-54, 58-56 and 57-57.
“I was prepared to go four rounds and ended up going six. Could have done better in this fight as I know this wasn’t my best performance to date. I’ll look to apply more pressure on my opponents and utilise my jabs even more in future” Said Shehran.
This makes Muhammad Shehran as Malaysia’s top ranked featherweight above No. 2 ranked undefeated Malaysian featherweight boxer Aiman Abubakar (6-0,2 KOs).
The Malaysian boxing scene could end up having a treat if these two face each other in a penultimate confrontation. A matchup of this stature would create an age of fans to vouch for a top pugilist for athletic greatness in the featherweight division.
The fans were finally entertained with the main event when the top attractions were contained in the ring.
