WBC female super middleweight champion Claressa Shields, defeated Costa Rican Hanna Gabriels, at the Masonic Temple in Detroit, Michigan, United States.
This fight was intense since the beginning, with Gabriels giving a warning bell in just the first round, when she sent Shields to the canvas with a smarting right hook.
The two-time Olympic gold medalist from the United States, got up from the canvas, a bit disturbed, survived this round and won the following rounds to take the victory 97-92, 98-91 and 97-92.
At the end of the fight, Shields celebrated with the victory, but quickly climbed into the ring to challenge WBC female middleweight champion Christina Hammer, spicing up the atmosphere, ripe for a clash between these two…in the non too distant future!
