“Detroit City Gold” venue, which is less than an hour from Shields hometown in Flint, Mich., Is promoted by Salita Promotions. It`s the first time women fighters have been the main event on SHOWTIME.  This is what Shields and  Szabados has to say, at the final Presser:

Claressa Shields: “I started boxing at age 11 and all I really wanted was a chance. This is one of those great opportunities. Her having 124 professional rounds means absolutely nothing to me.  Her 15-8 record with 6 KO’s is nothing to me either. But I’m glad she took the fight. She’s a challenge  on paper!   I’ve been training hard for three months.”

Szilvia Szabados: “I’m ready to fight and I’ve been waiting a long time for this one.   I feel good and I’m in great shape. Everyone has a destiny in life and I’m glad I chose to be a boxer. This is a great opportunity for me and I plan to take full advantage of it. I know she has the amateur experience, but I have more experience as a professional. We will see who`s the best woman,  this Friday.”
