JAPANESE champion Satoshi Shimizu retained his Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) featherweight title via a 7th round technical knockout win against Filipino challenger Eduardo “The Nightmare” Mancito last Dec. 30 at the Bunka Gym in Yokohama, Japan.
Shimizu pummeled to submission Mancito in 2:08 of the 7th round to remain unbeaten with five straight wins all by knockouts.
It was Shimizu’s first title defense of the crown he won by dethroning South Korean champion Sa Myung Noh (11W-3L-0D, 4 KO) via a 5th round TKO last October 12 at the Korakuen Hall.
Mancito of the Highland Boxing Gym from La Trinidad, Benquet dropped to 15W-8L-2D (9 KOs).
He also previously lost by a unanimous decision to compatriot Vergil Puton in their battle for the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) super featherweight title last October 6 in Muntinlupa City.
