Sinead Kavanagh will take on Olga Rubin on the main card of Bellator 217 in Dublin, Ireland on Feb. 23.

Bellator announced the fight among eight newly added bouts to the Dublin card via press release Wednesday.

The press release revealed that Karl Moore’s previously announced main card bout against Yannick Bahati has been moved to the prelims. Bellator also formally announced Paul Redmond’s lightweight showdown with Charlie Leary, first reported by MMA Fighting, which will take place on the preliminary portion of the event.

Kavanagh (5-3-0) goes into the contest on the back of her loss to Janay Harding, which was stopped at the end of round one due to a cut. One of the first SBG fighters signed to Bellator back in 2016, “KO” made her debut as a fledgling pro at just 2-0. She is currently 2-3 under the Bellator banner.

Rubin (5-0-0) took a decision win over former Invicta, Cage Warriors, RIZIN and UFC competitor, Cindy Dandois, in her last fight. The victory over Dandois marked her third win in as many tests under the Bellator banner following her successful professional debut win over Laurita Likker-Cibirite. Her only other promotional outing saw her move to 4-0 with a first round stoppage of Joana Filipa.

Announced for the preliminary card, Walter Gahadza (17-3-0) will look to add to the win he claimed in his promotional debut against Kent Kauppinen, who he stopped with a second round rear-naked choke in London, when he takes on German welterweight, Ruben Crawford (16-3-0).

TUF veteran Richie Smullen (3-1-1) will make his Bellator debut on the night against Adam Gustab (3-3-0) following a loss in his UFC debut against Luis Pena. Former BAMMA title challenger Richard Kiely (2-1-0) is also slated for his promotional bow when he takes on Mikael Bucher (3-4-0).

John Redmond (7-13-0) will compete for the first time since his loss to Charlie Ward in his Bellator debut, which prompted Conor McGregor to scale the fence in an effort to celebrate, when he takes on George Tokkos (4-0-0).

SBG Ireland are well represented on the card with 15 of the gym’s fighters set for action on the night.
