Four-time world champion in two divisions Orlando “Siri” Salido bristling in a great physical shape, during an open media training session attended by a legion of media and fans in his native Ciudad Obregon, Sonora.
This is his training center and strategy HQ, in advance of a pitched battle against Miguel ¨Mickey¨ Román scheduled for December 9th at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The clash of Mexican warriors Salido (44-13-4, 31 KOs) and Roman (57-12, 44 KOs) is the main headline fight of a great Zanfer promotions boxing card, in association with Tom Loeffler and Golden Boy Promotions, to be televised live by HBO on its “Boxing After Dark” show beginning at 10:20 p.m. East / Pacific.
Salido battered the pads with his Coach Santos Moreno for two solid hours. He then ran for 40 minutes and at midday he underwent plus completed some exacting as well as strenuous strength exercises in a gym, led by physical conditioning Trainer Guillermo “Memo”Heredia.
“I am working on one of the best preparations ever, with the help of a complete multidisciplinary team, combined with the integration of physical trainer Memo Heredia, I felt very well indeed. I will definitely get to the ring less dehydrated and very strong, ready for a war!” Salido predicts.
Adding: “Plus fans know me well. I do not leave anything in the ring. I am a warrior who gives absolutely everything. Some see me as the B side, but…. I end up being the main fighter. Roman is a warrior too, but my experience will give me a distinct advantage.” So says the former featherweight and super featherweight champion.
He insists: “I am the people´s champion. I always go to the ring to offer big shows. Nobody has given me anything, and on December 9 at the Arena of the Hotel Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas I will show again that Salido is…still here!”
