No time for California Dreaming at the Inglewood Forum Saturday night, as WBC light heavyweight International Champion Joe Smith Jr defends his crown for the second time against powerful Cuban challenger Sullivan Barrera, and WBC super featherweight champion Miguel Berchelt attempts to stem the onslaught of formidable lefty Takashi Miura.

Joe Smith Jr. exploded on to the boxing elite scene, after defeating tough Polish boxer, Andrzej Fonfara in a single devastating round. He then marched on, to face the legend Bernard Hopkins, in what was announced as his winning farewell fight. That night Joe Smith Jr was the first fighter to “Guillotine” Bernard “Executioner” Hopkins.

The current building site route to further construction of his career, now involves Joe`s best attempts to hammer Sullivan Barrera. The talent Cuban, who`s not afraid to roll up his sleeves, has managed to defeat 14 of his 19 opponents by KO at the cost of only one defeat.

Today both fighters clocked in, confirming they`re overall ready for the fight, as both encountered and defeated the scales.
