More than 50,000 Mexican fans will be treated  to a magnificent, thrilling and supreme  boxing fiesta  on April 1 in the Zocalo of Mexico City.

Great, wondrous  and memorable boxing matches have adorned Plaza Mexico, “El Toreo” and even the giant Azteca Stadium, but this special extravaganza presented by  Mexico City`s  Government and the ever innovative World Boxing Council, carves out a unique niche in history, as being right in the heart of the mighty City itself!  As part of its hewn heritage and  landscape the  vast National Palace, which is the hub of Capitol power and the Traditional and ornate Cathedral overlook this  gigantic showcase plaza.

Befitting the majesty of a tremendous occasion, truly regal fights are lined up for championship enthronement.  For the first time,  Alejandra “Tiger” Jiménez will stake her WBC heavyweight belt, against American Carlette Ewell. And then  Mariana “Barby” Juarez is contesting   the WBC bantamweight title, cheered on by thousands, in a battle royal  against  Zambia`s Catherine Phiri.
