World Boxing Council super flyweight champion, Thai Srisaket Sor Rungvisai’s training is simmering to boiling point, with the icing on the cake being the first defense of his crown.
On September 9, Srisaket will grant the rematch to the former champion, Nicaraguan Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez, in which is expected to be a sweet slice of boxing history.
Sor Rungvisai defeated Roman “Chocolatito” González, by majority decision, conquering the WBC super flywwight belt, at Madison Square Garden in New York. After 12 intense rounds of action, which included a surprise knock down of “Chocolatito” in the very first round, judges saw Sor Rungvisai winning on two cards 114-112 and 114-112, while a third saw a draw 113- 113.
Srisaket has stated how immensely proud he is to be a WBC champion, as well as the great shouldered responsibility he has as, an example of thousands of young people in Thailand.
