SORIANO CAPTURES INTERIM OPBF LIGHT FLYWEIGHT TITLE

IVAN “Bomba” Soriano landed more telling blows to beat Jaysever Abcede by a unanimous decision to capture the interim Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) light flyweight crown last Saturday at the Makati Cinema Boxing Square in Makati City.
Judges Mohammad Aquil Tamano and Silvestre Abainza both scored it 117-110 while judge Gil Co saw it 116-111 all in favor of Soriano.
Soriano improved his record to 17 wins with 8 knockouts against one loss and one draw while Abcede of Bukidnon dropped to 15W-9L-0D, 10 KOs.
Meanwhile, Danny Tampipi stopped Noel Adelmita by a 3rd round knockout to capture the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) super bantamweight title in the same card promoted by Joven Jimenez.
