Soriano to fight Nazarov for vacant WBO Oriental flyweight title

DAVAO CITY — Ivan “Bomba” Soriano of Gen. Santos City will face Olimjon Nazarov of Uzbekistan for the vacant World Boxing Organization Oriental flyweight title on Aug. 25 at the District 7 Arena in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.The 30-year old Soriano (20W-2L-1D, 10KO) recently won by a unanimous decision over Bonjun Loperez of Davao City last Jan. 16 in Cagayan de Oro City.He formerly won the vacant OPBF Silver light flyweight title by beating a UD over Jaysever Abcebe of Bukidnon last 2017 in Makati.Soriano. however lost by a UD to Wenfeng Ge of China to the vacant WBO International flyweight title last Aug. 24, 2018.Nazarov, on the other hand, won the WBC CIS and Slobac Boxing Bureau bantamweight title with a UD over Khvicha Gigolashvili in May 5, 2018.The 33-year old Nazarov (18W-5L-0D, 11KO) recently TKO’d Mishiko Shubitidze in the 1st round last June 16, 2019.The promoter is Sang Bum Kim of Cocky Buffalo Promotion.
