BANGKOK, Thailand — Ador Torres, one of the most active Filipino boxers during 2022, ended the year not only scoring his 3rd consecutive stoppage win here in the Kingdom of Thailand, but also becoming the new ABF Welterweight Champion.
His knock out win over brave Thai warrior Meechaiya Kaiwiset shined bright just days ago at the luxurious SpacePlus Night Club in Thailand’s capital, Bangkok, live in the Kingdom o Chic TV Channel 80.
Despite starting the year with a setback during a tough war in Pakistan, the brave and fully committed 27 year-old southpaw warrior quickly regrouped, coming back with big BANGS, demonstrating steel mantle, mental toughness and improved technique.
Born in the beautiful Bungto san Santa Magdalena in the paradise Bicol Province of Sorsogon, the rather silent, but friendly and easy to smile Ador Torres (7-4-1, 4 KO’s), sees with positivism this new year 2023 as a new start to more challenges in the sport that he loves.
However, the road has not being easy for the deeply religious Christian, who faithfully attends Church for guidance in his spiritual life towards Christ.
Because for Torres boxing is a true passion, although not everything.
Above all is His God our Lord Jesus Christ, as well as his commitment to Family and to his Beloved country of The Philippines, the glorious land that he calls “My Home.”
It is also the land from where he would love to receive more support and understanding. Sadly, some times he does not.
Positive, Ador Torres does not harbor hard feelings, leaving all up to God.
As such, he continues his life in boxing, a life of sweat, daily training and discipline, a life he deeply enjoys together with his teammates of the Highland Boxing stable, being his fellow Filipino ABF champion John Michael Zulueta his bully and best friend.
In his life’s journey, Ador has counted with the support and guidance of Highland Boxing Promotions director Brico Santig, his manager Darwin Miller Dep-ay, his teammate Herlan Gomez, and coaches Jomar Fajardo and Joemarie Gamboa Sr.
They are Ador Torres’ boxing brothers bringing out the best of him.
“I love my life in boxing. My teammates are just like my brothers. We support each other. Help each other during training and during fights. I appreciate them much,” Ador Torres shares.
In the coming days Ador Torres will enjoy a well-deserved holiday with his dear family in his beloved hometown of Santa Magdalena.
There, he hopes to visit his many relatives, friends and pay a humble but heartfelt courtesy visit to his municipality hall lead by Mayor Mark Jewery G. Lozano and Vice-Mayor Ramon Ragas Espela, whom have been friendly and kind towards him.
Congratulations to Ador Torres for his hard-fought wins in Thailand and for becoming the new ABF Welterweight champion, a victory title that brings Honor and Glory to his cherished, so much loved Land of The Philippines.
