Sparks will fly from “Smithy” Vs “St George” in WBSS Final

Promoter Comosa AG, has walked its talk matching eight of the best fighters in the super middleweight and eight more in the cruiserweight division.

“World Boxing Super Series” burst on to the scene, and  in July, the quarterfinals thrilled.

The great cruiserweight final was held, with Oleksandr Usyk, proving to be the best fighter in the division after defeating Marco Huck, Mairis Briedis and Murat Gassiev.

The original idea included holding the finals in both divisions on the same day. However, George Groves suffered an injury during his semifinal fight against Chris Eubank Jr. and the much anticipated  outcome of the super middleweight division had to wait.

Finally, this Friday the best fighters of the super middleweight tournament will clash. Callum Smith, who’s WBC diamond champion, and George Groves the WBA champion.

Callum Smith won his place in the final after defeating Swede Erik Skoglund and Dutchman Nieky Holzken in the quarterfinals and semifinal respectively. For his part Groves managed to defeat Jamie Cox and Chris Eubank Jr.
