Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, president of the World Boxing Association (WBA), paid tribute to three pillars of the organization; South African Stanley Christodoulou, South Korean Alam Kim, and Panamanian Aurelio Fiengo, whom he appointed lifetime members of the WBA for their years of service and support for the systematic development of boxing.
Christodoulou is one of the best referees in the history of this sport and has been part of the WBA since 1976. His name is inscribed in the boxing hall of fame in Canatosta and has been vital in the body’s plans to improve and professionalize the work of the judges and arbitrators, along with supporting the work of the WBA in African territory.
Kim has been vital to the WBA for Asian boxing. He is a tireless worker and thanks to him the WBA has had a strong presence in the largest continent. In his career as a supervisor he has worked in 81 world title matches and has always shown his passion for boxing.
Fiengo, another longtime member of the WBA, is a tireless worker who at the head of WBA-Fedelatin has given his face to Latin American boxing. Thanks to his and his teams management, the boxers of the region have had greater opportunities to fight world titles and develop as athletes.
Their work within the WBA has made the organization even bigger and for that reason they have earned this deserved recognition that unites them, even more, to the history of this sport and this organization.
