Two of MMA’s longest-tenured international heavyweight stars will collide in March.
On Thursday, officials announced that Stefan Struve (28-9) and Andrei Arlovski (26-15, 1 NC) will fight at UFC 222 on March 3 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. The bout features two veterans with a combined 43 fights inside the Octagon.
Struve is coming off of a defeat in the main event of UFC Rotterdam this past September, a third-round TKO-loss to Alexander Volkov that snapped a two-fight winning streak for the 7-foot Dutchman. He is 3-2 in his last five fights.
This will be Struve’s first time fighting in the United States since December 2014.
Arlovski is trending in the other direction, though just barely. The former UFC heavyweight champion had lost five consecutive bouts before earning a unanimous decision win over Junior Albini at UFC Norfolk in November. Prior to this 1-5 stretch, the 38-year-old Belarusian had won six straight fights.
