Two days before his official debut in the world’s biggest Mixed Martial Arts stage, Ultimate Fighting Championship, Baguio’s Mark Striegl was pulled out of the fight card as he tested positive for Covid-19.
The 32-year old MMA veteran expressed his apologies to his supporters that they won’t get to see him in the UFC octagon as yet. Mark is currently on a two-week quarantine as he is looking to get better in the shortest possible time to get back on track.
In his exclusive interview with Fightnews Asia, he affirmed he tested positive with the virus and that he will be staying in the United States en quarantine and in the coming months to keep fit and stay ready for that UFC fight night soon. He looks forward to fighting in the coming UFC calendars. Despite his hoarse voice in a call interview, Mark says he is showing off mild symptoms and should be okay in a couple of days.
Trevin Jones, Mark’s fellow Pacific Xtreme Combat combatant is stepping in in his place. Jones is currently on a two-win streak, both via submission and tucks in a 12-6 record.
Trevin has been in Las Vegas training prior to his pick as the replacement in the Munhoz-Edgar headline fight. Jones once won over Baguio’s Troy Bantiag at PXC 37.
