HBO’s “Superfly 2” card already had its main event, with Srisaket Sor Rungvisai set to defend his WBC super flyweight title against Juan Francisco Estrada on February 24, and now the event has a co-feature, too.

In another super flyweight fight (obviously), former titleholder Carlos Cuadras of Mexico will take on Puerto Rico’s McWilliams Arroyo, renewing the storied boxing rivalry between the two nations.

Cuadras (36-2-1, 27 KO) has lost two of three, both on HBO airwaves, but remains a top contender in the division. The 29-year-old is coming off of a defeat at the hands of the aforementioned Estrada on the first “Superfly” card, on September 9, losing by a single point (114-113) on all three cards in what was a terrific back-and-forth scrap.

Arroyo (16-3, 14 KO) is a banger who has also lost two of three. He dropped a decision to Amnat Ruenroeng in September 2014, and then lost to Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez on HBO in April 2016. That was his last fight, meaning he’ll be out of action nearly two years by the time he faces Cuadras at the Forum in Inglewood.

“This is exactly what I want, to fight the best fighters in the division on the biggest stages,” Cuadras said via press release. “I love fighting in Los Angeles, and for this fight I’ll be training in Big Bear Lake, California, with my new trainer Abel Sanchez. I can’t be stopped in 2018, and will be a world champion once again.”

“My fight with ‘Chocolatito’ was a great experience,” Arroyo said. “I loved fighting at the Forum with its loud and passionate fans, and history of great fights particularly in the lower weight classes. I can’t wait to get to Los Angeles to face Cuadras.”
