SWOTTING AND SWATTING AT UNAM

Top marks for the Municipal School of Boxing “José Sulaimán Chagnón” of Calpulalpan, Tlaxcala, at  the University Boxing Tournament “For the Autonomy” in the UNAM gym.

Denisse Rocha (3-1), Brandón Omar Juárez (3-0), Gustavo Beristaín (2-1), Juan Avitia Molina (6-0) and their coach Mario Sánchez Torres were invited to the tournament by Professor Emmanuel Avila , responsible for boxing at the Autonomous University of Tlaxcala, in an event which serves as a magnificent example of dedication and peak fitness.

The male boxers got the victory, while Denisse Rocha narrowly lost a very competitive bout.  The fighters did not pass up the opportunity to thank World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman for everything he has done for the school and for them.

Their teacher Mario Sánchez Torres said that they are very motivated because they will soon be able to start training at their new school in the Community “La Cañada” in Calpulalpan, Tlaxcala.

“In three months all paperwork will have been completed  and then we will be able to officially invite Mr. Mauricio Sulaimán to come and lay the foundation stone of our new school,” said Sánchez Torres.

The University Box Tournament “For Autonomy” was sanctioned by the Referee Association of the UNAM. The invited boxers thanked also to the Rector of the UAT, Rubén Reyes Córdoba and Neftalí Gutiérrez Juárez, Mayor of Calpulalpan.
