Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (38-0-1, 34 KOs), who`s the WBC middleweight champion, and Mexican Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KO’s), will return to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada for their historic rematch on September 15. The event will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay Per View beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5: 00 p.m. PT.

Canelo and Golovkin met for the first time in September 2017, in a highly competitive and thrilling 12-round battle that ended in a split draw. Their clash broke records for an event in a boxing arena in Las Vegas, as tickets for the T-Mobile Arena sold out in less than two weeks and attracted countless fans from Mexico, Kazakhstan and many other parts of the world.

“The truth is that this fight is very significant for me because of everything that has happened and all that has been said,” said Canelo Alvarez, adding: “I will talk with my fists, to clearly show that I am the best.” Golovkin will swallow everything he has said. I will show who is the best when I convincingly defeat Golovkin on September 15 during the weekend of the Mexican  Independence day, and I will make it clear that Mexican boxing is the best. ”

“I’m happy that the agreement has been made and that the rematch is on” said Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin. “I’m ready to go back to work with Abel [Sanchez] in Big Bear.” This is the biggest fight for boxing,  and the fight that everyone has wanted. it`s a battle to see who is the best and for the history of boxing.   I am happy to defend my titles on Mexican Independence Day, with  a great stage for true Mexican style boxing. The most important thing is to get the victory.”

“There is a lot of hostility between the two fighters,” said Oscar de la Hoya, President and CEO of Golden Boy Promotions. “This fight is now personal, and there is a lot at stake, so we will undoubtedly see a great fight.”

Canelo vs. GGG 2 is a 12-round bout for the middleweight championship and that is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and GGG Promotions.
