TACONING TO FACE INDONESIAN JULY 29


DAVAO CITY – Current WBC International light flyweight champion Jonathan “Lighting” Taconing will face Indonesian Silem Serang on July 29 at The Flash Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.
Taconing, a native of Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte now has a record of 24 wins with 20 knockouts against three defeats and one draw. He previously won a 4th round technical knockout win against another Indonesian Ellias Nggenggo last March 25 at the Manila Hotel.
The 30-year old Taconing captured the vacant WBC International light flyweight title by a 10th round TKO win over Cebu’s Salatiel “Pakyaw” Amit last November 19.
Taconing is also a former a OPBF and WBC International light flyweight champion.
He also fought but lost for the WBC world light flyweight title against defending champion Suriyan Satorn by a 5th round technical decision in Thailand last May 3, 2012.
Serang (8-13-1, 1 KO) previously bowed to Frengky Rohi on points last July 16 in Rembang, Indonesia.
