From September 30 to October 7, the World Boxing Council Family will celebrate its 56th Convention at the luxurious Fairmont Grand Hotel in Kiev, Ukraine, with ranks of great Champions confirming they’ll be landing in waves, with impeccably punctual timing.
One of them is Erik Morales, a four divisions world champion and now a member of the International Hall of Fame, who has made history, with his power, talent and heartfelt determination.
From the very beginning, guided by the brilliant direction of his beloved Father, José “Olivaritos” Morales, Erik clearly and unmistakably showed that he was born and raised, not just to be a world beater and a champion, but also a superstar. In 1997 at the tender age of twenty, Erik “El Terrible” Morales, proved himself to be an awesome and elite fighter. He won his first WBC crown, in the super bantamweight division, halting compatriot Daniel Zaragoza, who after that defeat announced his retirement.
Erik’s career continued to rise. A memorable moment of glory was when he unanimously defeated Manny Pacquiao, to become the WBC super featherweight division’s international champion.
The triumphs continued. Who could ever forget the marvelous, magical, fierce, uncompromising and mecurial thrilogy against Marco Antonio Barrera. Each incredible encounter promised, met and surpassed the most exacting Green and Gold standards of fabulous fighting at its ABSOLUTE zenith!
In the concluding portion of his career, Erik defeated Dominican Francisco Lorenzo by unanimous decision, to conquer the WBC super lightweight world title, in a crowded Caliente stadium of the city of Tijuana.
In 2011, he defeated César “Demoledor” Cano, conquering the WBC super lightweight title, becoming the first ever four division Mexican world champion.
The last time that Erik went to the ring was on October 20, 2012, at the Barclays Center where he faced Danny García.
Erik plus many other stars and icons will be part of this great event. Below you will find special rates for the WBC family and the link to reserve:
