Although the expected meeting between the Interim rooster champion of the World Boxing Council, Takuma Inoue (13-0, 3 KOs) and the absolute champion, the Frenchman Nordine Oubaali (16-0, 12 KOs), has not yet been officially announced. Japanese fighter is already training.
Inoue is preparing with a former rival, Mark Anthony Geraldo (37-9-3, 18 KOs), who he already defeated in a match for the OPBF fly crown in 2015, in what was Takuma’s fifth professional fight.
Geraldo has been selected as a combat partner for Inoue for several reasons, not only because he is left-handed, like Oubaali, and shares a height similar to that of the champion, but also because Geraldo has shared the ring with Oubaali.
The Filipino was knocked out by Oubaali in a fight for the WBC silver title at the end of 2017, suffering only the second defeat of his career.
The fight is expected to take place on November 7 somewhere in Japan.
