The exodus continues. A long line of fighters have voiced their displeasure with the UFC lately, and it looks like another one is looking to exit the organization. Tatsuya Kawajiri, the 38-year-old Japanese veteran that has fought for the promotion six times, took to Twitter today to announce his intentions:
When asked for comments, Kawajiri’s manager Shu Hirata told Bloody Elbow that his fighter has two fights left on his four-fight deal currently, and that Kawajiri will address his reasoning behind the tweet “relatively soon”.
Kawajiri (35-10-2, 3-3 UFC) is coming off two losses in a row to Cub Swanson and Dennis Bermudez. The well-traveled competitor has fought in Pride, Shooto, Strikeforce, Dream, and multiple other promotions during his long career.
It’s possible that Road FC could be where he wants to go, considering they’re putting up a million dollars for a 32-man lightweight tournament soon.
