THE team of Filipino boxer Rey “Technician” Perez has already arrived in Washington, DC last Nov. 28 for his title fight against American Lamonth Roach Jr. on Nov. 30 at the Theatre of the MGM National Harbor
Perez was accompanied by manager Rex “Cacoi” Rodis II of RED Boxing International and his wife Anyl Vi, Filipino trainer Jules Tagalog and Mexican trainer Francisco Calderon.
They left the Los Angeles Airport and travelled for four hours to reach Washington DC.
“We’re all very excited on Perez’s first fight under RED Boxing,” said Rodis.
“If he (Perez) performs what he does in the gym, this will be a great fight to watch,” said Rodis.
Roach, however, said in an interview by ESPN that he will knockout Perez in their championship fight promoted by the Golden Boy Promotions of Oscar De La Hoya.
Team Perez is billeted at the Residence Inn National Harbor Washington Hotel.
The official weigh-in and ESPN fighter meetings will both be held on Nov. 29 at 1 p.m. also at The Theatre at the MGM National Harbor.
