Undisputed Lightweight champion Teófimo López held a media workout as part of his preparation for his June 19th bout against George Kambosos Jr.

Kambosos is the IBF mandatory challenger and will be López’s first test after defeating Vasyl Lomachenko in October 2020.

López was in top physical condition and very cheerful as usual. He spared nothing, did shadow boxing, hit the bag, did speed and mitt work, and even abs, making it clear why he is an undisputed champion in and out of the ring.

After the great demonstration of his physical condition and power, López spoke to the media and said: “I don’t pay attention to my opponents, I heard that Selby’s fight was a close fight. However, Kambosos got the win, did the job, and became my mandatory challenger.”

“One thing I would like to make clear, the other fighters in my division had four months to send me a contract and none of them did. So, it all came down to George Kambosos in the end. I became undisputed world champion and I want everyone to know that I don’t dodge anything or anyone. With Kambosos, I’m not overlooking my competition but I’m looking straight through him.”

On a possible fight with Josh Taylor, he added: “I’ve been so focused on myself lately, but I would fight Josh Taylor or José Ramírez and beat them. Josh Taylor did what he had to do, it was a great fight and a great event. I love these types of fights. In sixteen fights, I never said no to any fight.”

“I’m undisputed at 135, Taylor is undisputed at 140. Hopefully we can make that fight happen and the winner become twice undisputed. That’s the goal.”
