World Boxing Council light fly champion Kenshiro Teraji (18-0, 10 KOs) was scheduled to make his ninth defense against # 1-ranked compatriot Masamichi Yabuki (12-3, 11 KOs) in Kyoto, Japan on september 10, but it was postponed as the champion tested positive for COVID-19.
Shinsei Promotions announced that the match will take place on September 22 at the Kyoto City Gymnasium in Kyoto, western Japan.
This will be the 29-year-old Teraji’s ninth defense of the title he won by defeating Mexican Ganigan López in May 2017.
Teraji, who is now fully recovered, has 18 wins, including 10 KOs. While Yabuki, who will get his first shot at a world title, has a 12-3 record including 11 KOs.
