Pride of Ukraine Vitali Klitschko, is one of the finest heavyweight champions in the illustrious history of the World Boxing Council.
Born on July 9, 1971, in Belovodsk, Kyrgyzstan, in the former Soviet Union. Vitali began his career as a professional boxer in 1996, winning his first 24 matches, almost all by way of the knockout. Nicknamed “Dr. Iron Fist,” Vitali won the famed Green and Gold Belt of the World Boxing Council on April 24, 2004, defeating Corrie Sanders in the Staples Center, Los Angeles, by KO. He made 11 successful defences of his title between 2004 and 2012 when he retired.
With a very impressive record of 45 wins, 41 of them by way of the knockout and only two losses, Vitali is considered by many experts and boxing fans, as one of the very best and most brilliant heavyweight champions, being one of the boxers with the highest percentage of knockouts… landing on the 87 percent mark!

Now as Mayor of Kiev, the Capitol of Ukraine, Vitali seeks human equality, democracy, order and equity in his country, just as he did another of our everlasting heroes, the great South African Nelson Mandela. Vitali Klitschko, our idol and three times heavyweight champion, will host our 56th Convention in beautiful Kiev, from September 30 to October 7.
