Eighteen months ago Ibrahim Emsallak in cooperation with social workers, Tom Flachet of the Brussels Boxing Academy and the Flemish Boxing League, started a fantastic project to keep as many young children from the street as possible, by introducing them to the fantastic sport of boxing.
They are all between 6 and 14 years old and they`ve trained passionately, learning the technique of boxing.
Last Sunday at the Brussels Boxing Academy gym they could all demonstrate what they learned from their coaches in fights held over 3 rounds of 40 seconds. Well-equipped with headgear they could only punch to the body without power, wearing a special jacket counting the correct punches.
The fights were conducted by WBC Ring officials Brahim Ait Aadi and Daniel Van de Wiele while WBC judge Olena Pobyvailo was at the bell.
It is a wonderful initiative which the Flemish Boxing league and we from our side as WBC officials will continue to do…
