In a technical display, a boxing class, the young boxer from Venezuela, Eva “La Ley” Guzman forcefully surpassed the local Isabel “Estrella” Millán. Thus, with the unanimous decision of the judges, Guzman established herself as the new interim champion of the World Boxing Association at 112 pounds.
While the odds were in favor of Millán, who appeared in front of her people, the plot changed. The differences were noticeable from the start: Guzman applied her tactical and technical intelligence with swift movements that allowed her to maintain a fair distance to connect her punches and be out of danger instantly.
In the continuity of combinations where the precision of her left punch and crossed punch over the face of Millán prevailed, Guzman took the lead in all rounds. While Estrella tried to stop her opponent with open blows, she also protected her face, which was already hurt by the fourth round. And that was precisely the dramatic closure of the fall of Millán on the canvas because of a powerful left cross on her chin. The difference in height in favor of the Mexican was not at all unfavorable for The Law, who won the victory justly.
This is how Eva Guzmán extended her record to 18 wins, with 10 KOs, 1 fall, and 1 draw. At age 28, Guzmán reached her peak by winning the Interim Flyweight black and gold belt.
