The long and short of it!  “Canelo” vs Fielding poised

By WBCBoxing.com

The World Boxing Council middleweight champion  Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, fights  Englishman Rocky Fielding, in a quest for a third  world crown Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York.

“I am very happy to be here at Madison Square Garden. It’s another story, another dream in my career and in this new stage with DAZN.  I’m very happy and motivated. Maybe some don’t give the credit that Rocky Fielding deserves, for he is a world champion, but I myself know who he is. Accordingly  I have trained very hard. I know I have a difficult fight, but I like challenges and I also know exactly what we are going to do. I’m totally ready for that,” said Alvarez.

“It’s great to be here. Several years ago I was here, sitting right up there, watching a Knicks game, wishing I’d fight here one day. And now I’ve worked a lot, I’ve had a lot of setbacks, and here we are, and it’s amazing. I believe in myself, this is a great opportunity and I am very happy to be here, “said Fielding.

Both fighters were face to face for the last time in the official weigh in of the card.

Canelo reported 167.4 pounds, while Fielding 167.6 pounds.

Canelo  will reach this bout with a record of 50-1-2, 34 knockouts, while Fielding is  27-1, 15 knockouts.
