The Suleimen 2020 award, is presented by Suleimen Promotions, along with the World Boxing Council to honor the memory of Suleimen Akdrashev, a Young Entrepreneur who unfortunately passed away, was announced on the 1st of July.
The Akdrashev family created the boxing promotion company on his behalf to continue their dream of supporting boxers and our beloved sport.
Dozens of heroes and heroines from around the world submitting their applications to participate for the Suleimen award and a special jury made up of members of the WBC family from around the world, reviewed and picked the finalists.
Kara Liebowitz, who fought tirelessly to beat cancer and also trained boxing to get stronger, was announced as the $ 5,000 winner. Dorian Bostic, a young man nicknamed the “Boxer Educator” for his social work with children, earned $ 1,000 as did Morgan McDonald, the creator of a youth boxing academy.
The Suleimen award is a great initiative that will be addressed at the next World Boxing Council Convention and that will take place virtually from August 12 to 15.
