The World Boxing Council wants to congratulate Gabriel López of Guaymas, Sonora, who was the third man in the ring, during the fight between David Cuéllar and Karim Arce, due to his perceptive, merciful, and timely stoppage, when Karim Arce was clearly in no position to defend himself during round nine.

The WBC also wants to make public its total and absolute rejection of the reaction of the boxer Karim Arce and his corner against Referee Gabriel López, who was insulted and physically attacked at the end of the fight. We inform Karim and his team that they receive a warning for this unsportsmanlike conduct and that in the event of a repeat offense they will receive a fine or suspension.
