
The WBC mourns the death of Luis Cervantes
The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaimán, are saddened at the death of Luis Cervantes, a great promoter of boxing in Tampico, Tamaulipas.
Luis, who was known as the “Macanas”, started in boxing from a young age. He was an amateur and professional fighter. He was then President of the Tampico Amateur Boxing Committee, promoting numerous fighters. In addition, he directed for many years the Tampico Boxing Commission always achieving a superb job. He was a true constant friend and a visionary pioneer of Boxing.
The entire WBC family prays to God along Don Luis’ family and many friends, at this time of such deep sorrow, tinged with wonderful and everlasting memories.
