‘There’s a chance’ Jimi Manuwa vs. Jan Blachowicz will main event UFC London

Jimi Manuwa thinks it’s possible that he will headline consecutive UFC London cards when he takes Jan Blachowicz on March 17.

UK fans are holding out hope that fan favorites Michael Bisping and Darren Till will be added to the card, but “Posterboy” believes there’s a chance that he will be handed top billing at UFC Fight Night 127.

“Yeah, there’s a chance; there’s always a chance,” Manuwa told Ariel Helwani on the latest episode of The MMA Hour.

“I main evented the show in London last year and I gave the fans a spectacular knockout. It is what it is, I wouldn’t mind being the main event on it, so we’ll see what happens.”

Manuwa’s clash with Corey Anderson initially wasn’t announced as the main event for last year’s London event, UFC Fight Night 107. However, the light heavyweight clash got announced as the main attraction at a later date.

“(UFC) haven’t told me anything, but we’ll see what happens. I was main event last time. The main event doesn’t really bother me, I just want to put on a great performance and get the win.”

Manuwa claimed that his rematch with Blachowicz came about because nobody else would take a fight with him.

“A little bit, but that’s due to people turning down fights,” he replied when asked if he was surprised he was booked to fight the Pole for a second time.

“He’s the only one who step up for me to fight. At the end of the day, he’s the only person I’ve been to a decision with in my career so I have to rectify that and knock him out.”
