A clash of welterweights has been added to the first ever UFC card in St. Louis, Missouri. AsCombate reported, 12-year UFC veteran Thiago Alves will take on the Missouri State University alum, Zak Cummings.
Alves (22-11) has recently defeated former middleweight title challenger Patrick Cote by unanimous decision in April. The win snapped a two-fight losing skid to fellow veterans Jim Miller and Carlos Condit.
Cummings (21-5) will try and make it three wins in a row after two submission victories over the likes of Nathan Coy and Alexander Yakovlev. His last loss came in August 2016, when he dropped an unanimous decision to Santiago Ponzinibbio.
UFC Fight Night 124 goes down in the Scottrade Center in St. Louis on January 14. Although bouts such as Vitor Belfort vs. Uriah Hall and Darren Elkins vs. Michael Johnson have been added to the card, no official main event has been announced yet.
