“Fighting in is a huge honour so I wanted to prolong the fight for as long as possible. As soon as I entered the Octagon I felt a surge of energy in me and I couldn’t help but end it within the second round. Walaa Abbas was a great fighter to go against for my debut in ONE,” said Tiffany Teo, Singapore’s Professional Fighter. “What makes it a bigger win for me was winning this match on my birthday; it is definitely the best present I have ever received and feels even more amazing because I know that I have brought pride to my head coach at Juggernaut Fight Club and my hometown, Singapore.”

Walaa Abbas of Cairo, Egypt is a 32-year-old former Egyptian Boxing Champion who made a transition to mixed martial arts in 2012. Well-known in the MMA scene and winning two straight matches in 2013 by TKO, Walaa proved to be a worthy contender for Tiffany. The electrifying match left the audience sitting on the edge of their seats as they watched two powerful women from different parts of the world brawl to bring glory to their respective countries.

Holding a perfect 3-0 record, with all her fights ending in the first round, Tiffany’s varied martial arts background gave her an advantage as she successfully defended a fury of blows Walaa laid on her. After yielding clean jabs, Tiffany had managed to contuse Walaa in a unbreakable rear naked choke.

“We can’t say we’re too surprised by her win as she is a very talented fighter but we are extremely proud of the fact that she managed to take down a more experienced fighter in her debut match and we can’t wait to see what else is in store for Tiffany’s MMA career,” said Arvind Lalwani, Head Coach & Founder of Juggernaut Fight Club. “I wanted her to go in showcasing her skills and do what she feels comfortable with. This was perfect platform to see where she stands amongst the elites and I am extremely proud. Kudos to Walaa Abbas for putting up a good fight and to ONE Championship for noticing Tiffany’s capabilities.”

Arvind Lalwani was presented the Pioneers of MMA award by ONE Championship on 9 November during One Championship’s official weigh-in.
