World Boxing Council heavyweight Champion Alejandra “Tigre” Jiménez will defend her belt for the second time on Saturday, in Cancun, Quintana Roo, against Canadian Vanessa Lepage, on a bristling card presented by Promociones del Pueblo in association with Cancun Boxing and Boxing Time.
Jiménez is unbeaten as a pro with a mark of 8-0 and 6 KO’s, and comes from knocking out American Carlette Ewell, in less than a round, on April 1 in the Zócalo, Mexico City.
Le page will be having her first professional fight outside of Canada; she is only 22 years old, and possess an undefeated record, albeit three bouts.
Both fighters, showing their great professionalism, sent in all the medical tests required by the WBC, as well as their non-pregnancy tests. These requests have the goal of protecting the safety and well being of the fighters.
We are very grateful for the excellent work of William Boodhoo, who is responsible for monitoring and requesting all the pre-weigh ins and medical examinations.
