The World Boxing Council minimumweight champion, Tina Rupprecht, defends her crown for the first time this Saturday at the Augsburg Sports Park in Kühbach, Germany.
Her rival will be Niorkis Carreno of Venezuela. Both boxers are undefeated. The defending champion has won three of her seven professional fights by knockout, while the challenger has seven knockouts in nine bouts.
“I feel very motivated to defend my title. We want to do great things in women’s boxing. I want to show that women’s boxing is growing all over the world,” the champion commented.
Rupprecht won the absolute minimumweight WBC crown last June, defeating Costa Rican Yokasta Valle by decision.
