World Boxing Council female minimum weight champion, Tina Rupprecht, successfully defended her title, defeating Venezuelan Niorkis Carreno, who proved to be a “Tough customer.”
Rupprecht started the fight briskly, using distance well and then moving in to punish her rival. The Venezuelan tried to use her physical size advantage, but the champion was able to neutralize that at all times.
It was evident that Carreño was not an easy opponent, and she won the respect and cheers of those attending the Augsburg Sports Park in Kühbach, Germany.
The final scores of the judges were 96 to 92, 97 to 91 and 96 to 92, indicating a unanimous decision for Rupprecht.
