In the co-main event at Twin River Casino, Toka Kahn-Clary (20-1, 14 KO’s) KO’d Mexican journeyman Mario Macias (28-21, 14 KO’s) at 1:52 in round 2. The card was promoted by Jimmy Burchfield’s CES Boxing in Lincoln, RI. Kahn overwhelmed Macias throughout the short fight with extremely fast hands and footwork. The final blow that made Macias quit was a left power uppercut which resulted in Macias hitting the canvas for the second time. Kahn-Clary is a rising contender in the super featherweight division.

Shelly Vincent (18-1, 1 KO) defeated Marquita Lee (3-2) in a quiet 8 round fight with little action. Vincent is coming off her first loss of her career to New York rival Heather Hardy last year in a bout which was nationally televised from Coney Island. She rebounded, and out punched her opponent who had little ring experience compared to Vincent. Perhaps a rematch with Hardy is in the cards before she retires, but for now she will continue to build her record in New England under the tutelage of Jimmy Burchfield.

Anthony Marsella, Jr. (3-0, 2 KO’s) KO’d Davonte Seay (0-2-1) in the 1st round in a bout at jr. welterweight. Marsella hit Seay with a short, powerful combination in the corner and he didn’t beat the count. It appeared that Seay wasn’t overly hurt, but rather did not want to continue.

Kendrick Ball, Jr. (4-0-2, 3 KO’s) and Nathan Millier (9-0-2, 2 KO’s) battled to a majority draw in a 6 round bout at super middleweight. Millier seemed to control the early action and landed some powerful looping right hands as Ball, Jr. struggle to score. Worcester’s Ball Jr. turned on the heat in the 5th as Millier seemed to tire. Most ringside observers thought Miller won 4 or 5 rounds but two judges scored it 57-57, and the other 58-56.

‘Prynce’ Ray Oliveira, Jr. (6-0, 1 KO) kept his undefeated record intact by out-working Matt Probin (2-2) over 6 rounds at jr. middleweight. Oliveira’s forward-coming style is welcomed as he grinded out a unanimous decision over a tough opponent who took Oliveira’s best punches. Oliveira, 26, from New Bedford, is trained again by his father, lightweight contender Ray Oliveira (47-11-2). Oliveira, Jr. took some shots of his own but responded well by moving and landing heavy shots to the head and body in the corner. The 5th round saved Probin from a possible TKO loss. The final scores were 59-55 and 60-54 (twice).

Cristobal Marrero (3-0, 2 KO’s) punished Isaiah Robinson (3-5, 2 KO’s) for all four rounds in their bout at welterweight. Robinson, 40, somehow was able to remain on his fight despite taking heavy shots for four rounds. The judges all scored the bout 40-36 in favor of the young prospect from Worcester, MA.

Khiry Todd (1-0, 1 KO) destroyed Patrick Leal (0-1) in his professional debut in the 1st round of action by TKO. Leal, a last minute replacement and MMA fighter, came out lunging and throwing wide hooks at Todd. Todd settled into his stance, timed Leal coming forward, and laid him out with a left-right combination to the head. Referee Joey Pupino called it a TKO at 1:40 in round 1.

Anthony Laureano (1-0) and Lamont White (0-5) fought at super lightweight to a no decision after a headbutt occurred in the middle of the 3rd round. Laureano was dominating the fight when the ringside doctor halted the action.
