Tony Bellew: I’ll find a way to beat Usyk

With the fight between undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and Tony Bellew set for November 10, the talking is starting up proper, and Bellew, as always, has plenty to say.

Bellew (30-2-1, 20 KO) is moving back down from heavyweight after two stoppage wins over David Haye, and believes he’s got the, well, belief needed to pull what everyone would call an upset.

“For the first time in his whole career he sees a man looking back at him who believes he can win and not a man who believes he is going to lose. As great as those other fighters are that he has faced and beaten, not one of them goes in there with the heart and the belief that they are going to beat him. That changes on November 10. I don’t just think or believe I am going to find a way. I know because I always do.”

Usyk (15-0, 11 KO) has the WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF titles thanks to his run through the first cruiserweight World Boxing Super Series, where he defeated Marco Huck to retain the WBO, added the WBC with a win over Mairis Briedis, and picked up the IBF and WBA with his finals victory over Murat Gassiev.

But Bellew has been here before, counted out. Most people didn’t think he’d beat Haye, and he did. Then he did it again, even more convincingly. He’s flying high in his career, even if he says this will be his final fight. And confidence goes a long way.

We’ll find out November 10 if Bellew has another upset up his sleeve.
