Ahead of this Saturday night’s lightweight interim title clash, Tony Ferguson is preparing, from the looks of things, to implement a heavy kicking game against longtime nemesis Khabib Nurmagomedov. The 33-year-old resident Californian (originally from Michigan) was recently seen absolutely destroying a heavy bag in training—to the point that he split the bag open and emptied the grain pellets onto the cage floor.

Wearing shades and a bandana, “El Cucuy” went to work on the bag, kicking and kneeing it until the guts of it were spilt. His attack on the bag was a brutal one, perhaps a foreshadowing of things to come at UFC 209.

Ferguson and Nurmagomedov have been on a collision course for the last couple years, and their rivalry flourished despite fight cancellations resulting from injuries on both sides. The MMA community has been on pins and needles since the fight was announced, and is collectively holding its breath until it finally takes place.
